Pharrell’s Controversial ‘Elle UK’ Cover: Culture or Costume?

Pharrell has always been one of hip hop’s more fashion-forward musicians. But has he gone to far?

According to Huffington Post, Pharrell headgear for the cover of July’s special-edition Elle UK issue has many people questioning his style and tact. The Oscar-nominated singer rocked a Native American feather headdress, which was possibly featured to compliment the colors in his sweater. At any rate, many believe he should be drafting up a lengthy apology ASAP.

What do you think? Is this just Pharrell expressing his cultured eccentricity again, or an offensive fashion fail? And when was the last time a celebrity styled themselves for a cover shoot, anyway? Shouldn’t the naysayers be addressing Elle‘s choice of stylist to express their disdain?
