Beginning 3D Modeling with TinkerCAD: Design a Tool

October 10 @ 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm

This is an introductory course designed to expose beginners to the Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) environment by designing a simple tool using the free, browser-based TinkerCAD software. The hands-on instructor will work with you throughout the design process and provide tips and tricks for 3D modeling. By the end of the workshop each participant can expect to have designed their own tool as well as started a 3D print of your design. TinkerCAD works similarly to more advanced CAD software such as Fusion360 and Solidworks and is a great stepping stone to work on more advanced designs.

Access to Inworks Prototyping Lab
We provide the facilities to turn good ideas into great realities. Whether you are a student, researcher, or someone looking to learn new skills, we welcome you to join us. Participants in our workshops gain access to Inworks for the duration of the workshop.

Currently our lab and prototyping equipment are free to access and open to the Denver community in compliance with our Inworks Terms of Use and posted safety rules. Lab staff must certify your competency on specific machines before you may use them. Our workshops are designed to teach you these skills quickly.

If you’d like to work in our space regularly, please drop by for a Basic Safety and Badging session at your convenience. You do not need a badge to take workshops, but it is required to drop into the space and work during our open lab hours.

You can learn more about us at inworks.ucdenver.edu, and we’d be happy to answer any questions you have after your workshop.

Remember, all participants are required to read, sign, and adhere to the Inworks Terms of Use and all posted safety rules.
