Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue closed out the 2014 Jazz Fest main stage. When VIBE first met Trombone Shorty, born Troy Andrews (in Jackson Square a few days prior to the set), the Treme native said his interview wouldn’t be complete without his band, so he invited us backstage to meet bassist Mike Ballard, drummer Joey Peebles and guitarist Pete Murano, who together make up Orleans Avenue.
“Well, our music is based off of dance music.
