After the successful debut of The TLC Story on VH1 critics and fans alike raved about the stunning execution of the legendary girl group’s musical journey. But not everyone was happy about the film. TLC founder and former manager Perri “Pebbles” Reid was up in arms over her portrayal in the film. The music exec threatened to sue those involved and she wasn’t bluffing.
Pebbles is taking on VH1′s parent company, Viacom, for defamation of her character. According to Page Six:
“Reid claims in Atlanta federal court that the 2013 VH1 movie portrays her “as a conniving and dishonest business woman who hoodwinked three innocent girls and exploited their talent for her own personal gain.”
