Tony Award nominee Kenny Leon is bringing Tupac’s legacy back through life with the upcoming Holler If Ya Hear Me musical. Though not an autobiographic tale of the prolific rap legend’s life, the play draws from thematic material in Pac’s music, featuring adaptations of tracks such as “Dear Mama,” “I Get Around,” and “Keep Ya Head Up.” And now, thanks to an Entertainment Weekly, anticipating theatre-goers can get a sneak peek at the Holla If Ya Hear Me cast re-imagining Tupac classics. Watch as “California Love,” “Unconditional Love” and “Holler If Ya Hear Me” get recorded for their on-stage adaptations.
Holler If Ya Hear Me opens on June 19 at the Palace Theatre in NYC.
