As President Obama’s nears the halfway point of his second term, he also receives a gracious gift from his hometown of Chicago–his own high school.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced yesterday (Apr 24) that the Barack Obama College Preparatory High School will be built from the ground up. The school will start with a 300 limit freshman class and add the subsequent classes in the following years. With plans to aid in more competitive selective enrollment programs, the school is expected to be complete for the 2017-18 school year. Once built, it’ll be the 11th special select program the city has.
